Why should I practice Kundalini Yoga?

“The process of growth through Kundalini Yoga is a natural unfolding of your own nature. The blocks to that growth are your attachments to the familiarity of the past, and your fear of the expanded Self. As you practice Kundalini Yoga you will grow. Like a snake you will need to shed old skins to be more of who you are.”

Yogi Bhajan

Experiencing heightened states of vitality, energy or awareness is something rarely accessible or even unknown to many of us.

Kundalini Yoga is a science, which luckily nowadays can be practiced everywhere, by anybody, who wants to tap into its highest potential and transform not only its body, but also gains control over its mind.

In Kundalini Yoga we are particular concerned with the energy, that resides in our chakras (energy centres) and needs to be distributed through our entire physical body (and beyond).

Kundalini Yoga as thought by Yogi Bhajan is also called the Yoga of Awareness. Awareness is the interaction between your finite identity (your body and mind) and the infinite potential identity (your soul).

Kundalini Yoga is THE technology to awaken that awareness to connect you with your original Self. Mostly the kundalini lays dormant in everyone. You may picture a sleeping, two and a half times coiled snake at the base of its spine, that waits to be “awaken”, to raise up and shedding its skin, when its time to do so.

For thousands of years, great yogis have gathered the knowledge of human potentiality and kept it secret. Their practices (pranayamas, kriyas, meditations) and wisdom have been passed down through the ages from a guru (teacher) to a disciple (student), who had to prove itself in many ways worthy to receive the teachings. The teachings have been passed on in an unbroken chain, the so called “Golden Chain”. This ancient teachings are just as much intact today as they were thousands of years ago. Thanks to technology they have evolved into forms now available to each and everyone right at the tip of our fingers'.

Through Kundalini Yoga we now have the tools to transform:

Transforming destructive thoughts into productive ones.

Transforming our depression to devotion.

Transforming anxiety into strength.

Transforming our bodies to achieve the bodily health and shape we desire.

You can transform anything you want, but another person. - Other than by example. ;-)

Through Kundalini Yoga you will gain a strong immune and nervous system, good circulation, vital glands and overall well-being. This foundation will give you the energy to deal with all the mental and spiritual facets of life as well.

And yes, Kundalini Yoga is hard work and it will bring you at the edge of your comfort zone. That's also why its recommended to practice with an experienced Kundalini Yoga Teacher, because you don't want to over estimate yourself, nor do you want to under estimate yourself (which can be even more destructive).

With the help of Kundalini Yoga and a gifted Teacher you will be able to find your True Self and live up to your highest creative potential. You will become an Alchemist - the creator of your own story.

With Kundalini Yoga you will receive a map that marks the pathway to a life of mastery.

Kundalini explained in a nut shell: Becoming aware - awaken - transform - live up to your highest potential!
